“Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin’ town.” // August 24th, 2008 Quick trip to Chicago over the weekend, to see our favorite (and only) groomsmaid and hang in the big city with good friends. On Sunday, Chrissy and the lady sparkler spent some serious time bonding, so i got some quality time with my camera … first real use since Australia, and Chicago certainly isn’t wanting for subjects. beware of restaurant week // August 11th, 2008 d.c. restaurant week has jacked it’s 3-course price fix from $30.08 to $35.08, but all this means is that it’s cheaper to eat off the regular menu. at tabaq, the parts of the meal — kabob ($16), grape leaves ($6), dessert ($6.5) — cost $7 less than the $35.08 “deal” they used to lure you in. more » |

nso @ carter barron ampitheatre // July 18th, 2008 after ten years of trying, i’ve finally seem something at carter barron, d.c.’s outdoor ampitheatre that’s nary 15 blocks up rock creek. the program was superb, the conductor hilarious (in a David Schwimmer sorta way), and the accoustics were better than the kennedy center. well worth the wait. |

so, i know i’m the only one who cares … // July 14th, 2008 … but i had to share that I am in first place in my fantasy baseball league. i’m only two points up (out of 2908 points scored) and there is no way i will still be in first by tomorrow, so i’m going to tell anyone who will listen today before i begin the long slide back towards mediocrity. more » |
